THE MGA CHAMPIONSHIP

Saturday November 4 – 9am Shotgun Start


ENTRY FEE:

$65 per person billed to your account.  Includes breakfast, lunch and prizes. 

 

FORMAT:

2 Man Team – Pick your partner.

  • Modified Stableford Points based on the partners’ Combined Course Handicap versus Quota of 72.  Each player will have a quota to reach based on their course handicap.  Subtract your Course Handicap from 36 to determine your individual quota. 
  • We will use 85% of handicaps
  • Points awarded as follows: 

Triple Bogey

-1 point

Double Bogey

0 points

Bogey

1 Point

Par

2 Points

Birdie

3 Points

Eagle

4 Points

Double Eagle

5 Points

 

The pro shop will post each of the player’s score to GHIN.

 

PAYOUTS:

Overall Winner:  There will be one Overall Winner (The Team with the most points in relation to their combined team quota will be the winner.)

Flight Winners:  Teams will be flighted by Index, and the number of payouts in each flight will be determined by level of participation.

Overall Winners and Flight Winners receive pro shop credit.

A team can only win one way.

 

ELIGIBILITY:

The field will be held to a Maximum of 60 Teams.  The tournament is open to all MGA Members as follows:  1) Teams with Equity Members both Unrestricted and Restricted/Intermediates on a first come first served basis.  2) Teams with Non-Equity Members will be put on a waitlist and fill remaining open spots 3) Players competing for Player of the Year honors will be given a 1-week advance sign-up period prior to the opening of registration for all other members.  The Top 10 players may play on the same team.

 

PLAYER OF THE YEAR POINTS:

Player of the Year points will only be awarded to those players to the Top 10 that are competing for Player of the Year honors.  New this year, those players that are in the top 10 Player of the Year and playing in this event will have their individual scores count towards the Player of the Year Tournament.  This will coincide with the team event being played but simply their own score will count for Player of the Year tournament/points.  See the MGA Members Handbook for details on point allocation.
