QUIGLEY LEADS TEAM TO HOT BALL VICTORY
Despite near-freezing temperatures, 116 players turned out to kick off the 2026 MGA season at the Hot Ball Tournament. Conditions improved throughout the morning, and the competition proved just as strong.
In the Hot Ball format, one player plays his own ball while the other three compete in a scramble on each hole, with payouts for both formats and overall champions determined by the combined score.
The highlight of the day came from Matt Quigley, who made a hole-in-one on the 13th hole while playing the hot ball—especially impressive as the hole ranked the fourth most difficult of the day.
The overall title came down to the final hole, where the team of Matt Quigley | Michael Ambrose | Matt Quigley | Tom Ferguson edged Chris Hall | Ryan Stockton | Glen Varkoly | Ryan Wilkins by one stroke after Mr. Quigley’s closing birdie secured the victory.

PARRAMORE TAKES POY
Thank you to everyone who joined us for our End of Year Championship this past weekend. It was a terrific day of golf, with the Player of the Year race coming down to the final few holes.
Congratulations to Chad Parramore, your 2025 Player of the Year. We began the day with seven players still in contention. Following the Fall Brawl, Charles Cilinski led the standings, with Matt Beall, Chad Parramore, Mike Shutt, Tim Otterlee, Steve Tendick, and John Gallagher all within reach.
As the round progressed, the standings tightened. With three holes to play, Parramore, Cilinski, and Otterlee were separated by only a few points in the stableford event. A strong finish by Parramore secured the second-place points he needed to edge out Cilinski by just 180 points!! Cilinski finished second in the season standings, with Otterlee completing the top three. Congratulations to all three on an outstanding season!
On the team side, one pairing separated themselves in our stableford competition. Cory Prinzbach and Raul Paraliticci found their momentum midway through the round making an EAGLE and a BIRDIE on hole 14 (their 7th of the day)! This along with two pars on 16 & 18 followed by a birdie and par on 1 carried them through to the finish, ending as the only team in positive points at +1!! Erik Dickerson and Ben Nixon finished in second place, with Greg Christopher and John Mann rounding out the top three - well done gentlemen!!

RED TEAM RETAINS THE SILVER CUP
Friday – Legends Matches & Pairings Party
Friday afternoon featured our Legends Matches, a tradition honoring longtime members who helped build this event into what it is today. The Red Team’s Legends came ready to play, capturing 3.5 points in the 5 matches and securing the coveted extra point for their team.
The excitement carried into the evening as players and fans gathered for the annual Pairings Party. The energy was high, and anticipation for the weekend competition was buzzing as the matchups were revealed.
Saturday – Four-Ball & Foursomes Matches
Saturday morning began with the procession, the reading of The Silver Cup Creed, and the always spirited march to the first tee. Early on in the matches, it appeared we were in store for a green wave only to see the red team make a late charge and finished the morning four ball with a score of 15.5 to 15.5.
The afternoon foursomes saw red continue their momentum taking the session 17.5 to 12.5 and building a cushion heading into Sunday’s singles.
Sunday – Singles Matches
Sunday always brings the most pressure—and the most drama. The Red Team, fueled by their Saturday surge, came out firing and never let up. By the afternoon, the leaderboard was painted red as they secured a dominant 34 to 26 edge in singles. With that, the Red Team successfully retained the Silver Cup with a final score of 67 to 54.
What a week of competition, camaraderie, and team spirit! Hats off to both teams, men and ladies, for making this event so special year after year. Of course, special congratulations to Captain Matt Beall, Vice Captain Ray Ash, and the entire Red Team on retaining the Cup!!

CHRISTIE | HAMPEL CLAIM SHAMROCK TITLE
WITH EAGLE ON THE LAST
A full field kicked off our second tournament of the season — The Shamrock! The format was a modified shamble: both players tee off, hit each other’s second shots, then select the best ball and play scramble until the ball is holed - And what a finish we had!
With just one hole remaining, three teams were tied atop the leaderboard at -9: Steve Tendick | Paul Schmitt, Jonathan Christie | Ty Hampel, and Greg Christopher | John Mann. Christopher and Mann made par on their final hole to remain at -9, while Tendick and Schmitt rolled in a birdie to move to -10.
But the drama wasn’t over yet. Christie and Hampel, finishing on Hole 9, made a net eagle to reach -11, securing the victory by one stroke!
Further down the board, Ryan Wiita | Charles Hagan also delivered late fireworks, making eagle on their final hole to climb into a tie for third. Wiita and Hagan would ultimately win the scorecard playoff over Christopher | Mann to claim the final podium spot.
The win marks back-to-back Shamrock titles for Jonathan Christie, who switched partners this year to Ty Hampel. Great playing, gentlemen!
